– Carlos Pazos –
Carlos Pazos pursues his work through the object and the souvenir and has become the leading exponent of this field of sculpture on the Iberian Peninsula.
He uses an easy-going Pop with nostalgic elements combined with a self-referential poetics that paradoxically stems from conceptual roots. He subverts the supposed austerity of these roots by means of an attitude similar to that of a 60s-style vocalist singing slow-tempo Latin tunes, an attitude imbued with a certain sense of humour but much more so with a romantic sentimentality, with a particular critical perspective.
